ABout Bovina Mountain Consulting
Bovina Mountain Consulting LLC is an independent consultancy registered in Florida. The business was founded by David C. Clark, Ph.D. in August 2010 and specializes in the nutritional and functional aspects of dairy ingredients particularly in high added value applications including Infant, Medical/Clinical, Dietary Supplements and Sports Nutrition. In addition, Bovina Mountain Consulting participates in corporate social responsibility projects, such as local development of food aid rations in regions such as S.E. Asia, where malnutrition and stunting persist in certain areas.
Bovina Mountain Consulting provides in-house expertise covering the entire development pipeline, from market research, strategic planning, project portfolio management, product development, regulatory support, end product formulation and market introduction. Bovina Mountain Consulting can also access its network of internationally respected associates to bring additional expertise to bear on projects, as appropriate.
The Owner
David Clark has a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and received his Ph.D. at the National Institute for Medical Research in London, U.K. He spent 11 years in senior academic research and management positions at the Institute of Food Research in Norwich, U.K. He has published more than 100 peer reviewed scientific papers. He was awarded the U.K. Royal Society of Chemistry's Junior Medal for pioneering work on food foams and emulsions.
Following his time in academic research, Dr. Clark gained 15 years of experience working in the dairy industry for DMV International (the ingredients division of Dutch dairy cooperative Campina) in a range of senior and executive positions based in The Netherlands and U.S. Following a merger with Friesland Foods Domo, Dr. Clark was appointed Director Region Americas for FrieslandCampina Domo. This was the U.S.-based nutritional and infant formula ingredients business of the then 4th largest dairy company in the world. In August 2010, Dr. Clark decided to leave FrieslandCampina to set up the independent consultancy, Bovina Mountain Consulting LLC.
Dr. Clark is a well-known and internationally respected expert with experience in the U.S., Europe and Asia, including China. He is a Resource Professional of the American Dairy Products Institute Center of Excellence
